Mum Shaves Off Bully Teen’s Hair As Punishment

What would you do if you found out that your teenager had been bullying a cancer patient?

Make them apologise? Perhaps organise some voluntary work within a cancer ward or hospice, helping people with terminal cancer?

This video, which appears to be from Portugal, apparently shows one mum’s extreme reaction; shaving her teen daughter’s hair off and then uploading the video to the internet for the world to see.

In the video you can see clumps of dark hair falling to the floor amidst the young girl’s screams and protests.

When the video first surfaced on the internet earlier this year, it was claimed to show a mum punishing her daughter for sharing nude pictures on the internet; however the audio on the video can’t be made out so we will probably never know the real version of events.

Whatever the real story behind it, and whatever the daughter’s misdemeanours, I think most people are in agreement that the mum’s actions are extreme. The majority of comments on the video disagree with the increasing trend of parents shaming their kids on the internet.

One commenter said “What kind of world do we live in when, rather than showing our children why their actions were wrong and seeking to educate them, we teach them that physical punishment and humiliation is the way to deal with things?”.
